Andy Warhol Paintings And Thomas Kinkade Paintings

By Darren Hartley

Among Andy Warhol paintings are a series of digital artworks made on an Amiga 1000. Created by the Commodore International, Amiga 1000 is a personal computer in the mid-1980s. As part of a marketing campaign, Andy created a few public pieces. However, it was never discovered if he made any digital artworks for his own purposes.

It has just been discovered that Andy actually did. A treasure trove of never-before-seen digital Andy Warhol paintings have been uncovered stashed away on dozens of unlabeled floppy disks. The artworks that were slowly deteriorating consisted of 28 works of art in the form of digital pieces created on a host of 1980s graphics software.

The public has Cory Arcangel to thank for the discovery. Cory is an NYC artist who is a self proclaimed Warhol enthusiast. His discovery of these Andy Warhol paintings was a result of his curiosity being aroused after watching a clip of Warhol artworks in an Amiga demonstration. The artworks presented included a digital portrait of Debbie Harry.

Thomas Kinkade put his entire life savings into the printing of his first lithograph at the very beginning of his artistic career. Thomas Kinkade paintings are inspired by the simple act of painting straight from the heart and not by fame or fortune. He felt a need to put on canvas the natural wonders and images that moved him most.

As a way to share the joy the artist feels during his lifetime is how Thomas Kinkade paintings came about. They were used to support the causes of hospitals, schools and humanitarian relief. Thomas never considered his art to be just a way of living but saw it as a ministry for raising as much money as possible for the sake of charity.

It is in the depiction of simple pleasures and delivery of inspirational messages that the emphasis of Thomas Kinkade paintings lie. It always from a higher power that Thomas credits his ability and inspiration that enables him to create his art.
